To determine weather a Weird and wonderful space character is a main character they must be : A star, A Planet, A large spherical moon, A dwarf planet or a dwarf planet candidate. They must also be in The Solar System and they must also have a name.

There are exceptions to this like Oumuamua, Planet Nine and Hyperion.
